WooCommerce Questions and Answers

1. Chadwick asks via email:

Can the cart be setup to hold some stock back in case of re-orders?

Answer: Yes!  On the WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory tab there is a setting named Out of Stock Threshold.  This can be set to “10” which will set items with 10 or less inventory to “Out of Stock” on the store.

This is useful to store owners who want to keep some stock available for re-orders and replacing damaged or lost shipments.

2. A user asks:

How can I change the button text on product pages?

Answer: This can be done with a simple filter. The template file for the Add to cart button has a filter around the Add To Cart text so this can be overridden using this filter:

3. Demo of WC Availability Chart:

For the last question of the show I did a demo of an upcoming free plugin titled WC Availability Chart.  The plugin adds a good looking chart to the Product page to represent the availability of different variations of the product.
