Need More Time #BUILDSZN

If you check the calendar it is currently January 10, 2019. Happy new year!

Also, if you check buildszn.com you’ll see I wanted to ship on January 1, 2019.

Oops.

Here’s the recap of what happened since the last update exactly 1 month ago:

Holidays

I truly over estimated the amount of time I would want to spend coding. I had plenty of free time, but used it resting or doing fun stuff with people I love. I really enjoyed my time with my family and friends. I’m not feeling bad about this because it was a very energizing time and I retuned to work this year with more focus.

Knowledge Gap

There is still a lot I need to learn about Laravel to build this project. I did some learning in November and thought it could carry me through to an MVP, but when I got into coding I was S…L…O…W. I need to re-think how to fill my knowledge gaps along with making progress on the app. I’m not striving for perfection mind you. I want a solid, functional MVP that I am happy to use.

What’s Next?

I’m still committed to building a SaaS in 2019. The first launch date didn’t happen, but I’m going to reevaluate and set a new target date with the new information I have.

Thanks again for following me on this journey and the encouragement you give!

If you’re building something new this year I’d love to hear about it. Hit me up on twitter.
