Enjoying Síclovía 2016

Sunday was one of the first cool days of the year in San Antonio. It was also the say of Síclovía.  A long section of Broadway (a road that runs near downtown) was designated as a car-free zone for five hours. There was a 5K, several booths, food trucks, and people riding anything with wheels.

Are you a morning or night person?

Today’s #SSSVEDA question asks:

Are you a morning or night person?

I’ve always considered myself a night person. I’d rather stay up late to finish something rather than waking up early.

Roving Coder Channel Trailer

This month I’m going to be participating in the VEDA or Vlog Every Day in August. I’ll be joining several other folks initiated by Amy Schmittauer over at Savvy Sexy Social.

The first day’s topic is just to do an introduction so I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I had filmed a channel trailer 6 months ago (yes, six months) and hadn’t finished editing it. So I edited it, put it on my new/old channel and used it as my introduction.

A few months ago I created a new channel with the hopes of getting the user name “DanielEspinoza” on YouTube which isn’t currently used, but that didn’t work out. I’ve got the username “growdev” from when I didn’t know what name I wanted to use and I’m not that happy about it. It’s funny that I didn’t default to my own name when pressed to choose. I still don’t understand the rule prohibiting changing your username. Nevertheless, I do have the channel name “DanielEspinoza1” which I’ll just have to deal with.

Roving Coder 004: Happy Birthday America!

Roving Coder Episode 004

We celebrated July 4th by going to the pool, getting pizza, then going to Pickrell Park in Schertz, Texas. Amanda grew up watching fireworks on the 4th and since our kids are older we want to continue the tradition.

We chose Schertz over a few other locations in town because it’s a short drive and we didn’t think it would be as crowded as the other locations.

The festival was fun! There was a live stage with snacks, several booths of crafts. Annabelle got her face painted and the boys got hats with their names and favorite characters.

The carnival was a bit of a bust. All of the rides were $4 a pop, they seemed in disrepair, and the lines were very long. We didn’t stay very long in the carnival.

The fireworks were the best part of the night. The show started at 9:15 and went on for almost an hour!

The day was a blast and we enjoyed celebrating the holiday.
